You may wish to donate to either of the current programs conducted by IBSAR that include:

  • Traditional Knowledge and Biotechnology Program – Biotechnology research in support of human health and well-being:
    • Supporting this program will foster the preservation and promotion of Traditional Arab Medicine and will help place researchers in the Arab world among the world’s leading contributors to new medicinal knowledge.

  • Identification, Characterization, and Monitoring of Biodiversity Program – Researching biodiversity in the context of local culture and livelihoods:
    • Support within this program will allow our conservation biology group to conduct further research amongst communities and habitats that are marginalized. The group constantly seeks trans-disciplinary approaches to identify and promote local conservation measures in parallel to scientific studies into species and habitats.

  • Sustainable Use of Biodiversity Program – Exploring nature-related livelihoods and sustainable businesses:
    • Through your support of this program, collaboration between academia and the private sector will be expanded. These partnerships help IBSAR build awareness into the private sector of social and economic benefits resulting from sustainable use of natural resources.

  • Landscape Approach to Biodiversity Conservation Program – Research into developing efficient spatial planning while  preserving local landscapes:
    • The program aims to integrate cultural heritage by focusing on rural practices and applying a holistic approach that ensures responsiveness to the natural, semi-natural, rural and urban context with a focus on ecotourism and recreation as an alternative for biodiversity activities.

  • Knowledge Sharing Program – Advancing awareness of nature and biodiversity:
    • By supporting the Knowledge Sharing Program you will be stimulating creative ways in transferring knowledge of nature and its conservation opportunities.

Help to Support our Current Campaign:

Seeds of Hope, Trees for Tomorrow!

We would like to invite you to support this important and timely initiative to plant a seed for hope in Lebanon. During the next 18 months, IBSAR will mobilize young people in local communities to participate in this important grassroots effort to collect and plant seeds in order to produce 50,000 native trees of different species in the next two years. The campaign will also increase awareness about the importance of preventing forest destruction.

We are seeking your support - help us plant seeds of hope. A donation of as little as 10,000 LL (a little over US$6.00) will allow us to plant a seed and grow a tree for a period of eighteen months. For example, a gift of $100 would cover the costs of growing 15 trees that will be planted in Lebanon. Gradually, working together – seed by seed and tree by tree – we can build a forest and raise a generation of young men and women that treasures nature.
