Nature Conservation Center for Sustainable Futures (ibsar)
Founded in 2002 at the American University of Beirut (AUB),
ibsar’s vision is for
societies to become guardians and primary beneficiaries
of biodiversity in the
region.
The Ibsar team consists of committed faculty members,
students, young researchers, interns, and volunteers.
The Center relies on the university’s state of the art
laboratory facilities, libraries, natural collections,
agricultural research facilities, and service
departments to promote an open forum for generating and
sharing new findings.
Since its inception ibsar members have drawn on
established academic and research programs at AUB that
produce well-prepared and motivated students and young
researchers, involving them in interdisciplinary
research and outreach projects related to nature
conservation and sustainable use.
