Dr. Fadia Homaidan is Associate Professor of Physiology and director of Grants and Contracts. She is a member of the
ibsar inflammation group.
The overall objective of this workgroup is to advance knowledge in the basic mechanisms of inflammation that could lead to the development of novel therapeutics interventions for inflammatory disorders.
Specifically, her laboratory is interested in studying the effect and mechanism of action of soluble mediators and the role of hetero-cellular communication between immune cells and intestinal epithelial cells on intestinal epithelial cell function in disease state. In addition, she studies the potential anti-inflammatory effects and mode of action of endemic plants using in-vitro and in-vivo models of inflammation. |
